Their Experience Of Getting Trapped By Hurricane Helene

As the podcast continued, the couple explained their experience of being stranded, starting with how terrifying it was not to have phone access. Alan and Lisa also discussed how it must have been scary for their family and friends to not know how they were doing due to the outage.

“You can’t get any information. You know they’re frightened. They’re seeing what they’re seeing on the news like everybody else, and so it was a really scary situation for them trying to get in, and we couldn’t get the word out to anyone.”

As the conversation continued, they began to discuss their gratitude for having family nearby, as many people were stuck in their cars with no cell phone service or gas. In his words:

“You realize these people are not from there and they’re just in their cars. They have no family there. They have no way to get gas they have no way to get supplies so they’re just sitting along the side of the interstate, just waiting on something to open up and if you’re in an electric vehicle you are doomed”

The picture they paint with their stories throughout the podcast shines a light on the true gravity of the current situation. Watch the full podcast below.
