Country superstar Kane Brown recently opened up about how his past childhood trauma has made him a stronger man today.

During an interview with British host Jamie Laing on the Great Company Podcast, Brown shares how different father figures in his life who treated him wrong consequently made him a better person.

“It made me who I am today, it made me stronger,” the country singer shares, reflecting on the brutal experiences he went through.

Brown shares one incident in particular, where one of his stepdads buzzed his head, and then placed aftershave on it, causing him to become incredibly uncomfortable.

When asked if he found it easy to talk about the abuse, the singer without hesitation explained that he did, as he was able to find positive aspects about the situation.

Brown also shared that his father being incarcerated for nearly 30 years made him grow up quicker than most children, as his mother went on to marry multiple times.

The Singer Has Become An Incredible Father To His Own Three Children

In June 2024, Kane and his wife Katelyn welcomed their third child, Krewe Allen Brown, joining their two older daughters, Kingsley Rose and Kodi Jane.

The country star often gushes over his kids, admitting he has loved giving his children the life he wished for when he was young.

“I’m excited to see where they go in life,” Brown shared on the Viall Files podcast. “But I was also really excited to give them a life that I never had and to just be a role model.”

The pair often shares photos of the kids, giving fans a look into their life as an adorable family of five.

Kane Shared A Special Bond With His “Granddaddy”

While Kane has never had a true relationship with his own father, he shared a special bond with his late grandfather, whom he referred to as “Granddaddy.”

When his grandfather passed away in 2016, the singer decided to write a sweet song in his honor.

Granddaddy’s Chair” is a slow melody reflecting on the bond of a young boy and his grandfather, and the lifelong memories the two share.

“Everything that’s written in this song is true,” he explained. “One of the main things I used to do is pretend rodeo in front of his chair, because he got sick and never left his chair.”
