Kelly Clarkson Reveals Ex-Manager Told Her To Get Plastic Surgery — And Her Response Was Perfect
on Nov 11, 2025

Kelly Clarkson is still shocked that her former manager once said this to her…
On Friday, November 7, Kelly Clarkson returned to Las Vegas to continue her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
In between songs, she was chatting with the audience, and at one point revealed a past conversation she once had with an ex-manager.
The “Breakaway” singer had just won American Idol at the time, and shockingly, his advice for making it big in the music industry was for her to get plastic surgery.
“I had some d**k manager one time tell me to get a boob job,” Clarkson says in a fan-captured video obtained by TMZ.
But Clarkson didn’t let the inappropriate suggestion slide. She shared that she immediately fired back at him.
“I was like, ‘Why don’t you get a d**k job?’ Like, what? I’m fine with my itty-bitty t**ties! Get out of here.”
“Who says that sh**?” Clarkson continued. “People say that sh**. They say it all the time to people in the industry. They say the craziest sh**. I’m like, ‘This is not normal. You’ve normalized crazy’… Everybody’s out here looking like they’re in The Capitol in ‘The Hunger Games.’”
She made it clear, though, that she isn’t against anyone choosing to change their appearance through surgery… It’s just not something she’s interested in for herself.
“Calm down, just get old,” she added. “Be glad… Not everybody gets to get old, you know what I’m saying?”
Fans absolutely loved Clarkson’s honesty. Many left comments on the video supporting her for standing up for herself. A few messages left were:
“They made the the right person famous on this one”
“That’s the best zinger ever”
“We love her… and this is why!”
“Kelly could have a career in stand up. She is so naturally funny!”

The candid moment from Clarkson happened at her first show back in Vegas after taking time off following the passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
Back in August, Clarkson shared a statement with fans saying she had to postpone her upcoming shows because Brandon was dealing with an illness. Clarkson’s original post read:
“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson wrote. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
The next day, it was revealed that Brandon had passed away after a private battle with cancer.
