on Jul 30, 2024
Lainey Wilson always knows how to make a memorable entrance, and this time, she made one that would surely make Toby Keith proud.
During a special benefit concert honoring Toby Keith’s legacy, Lainey Wilson performed “Beer For My Horses” as a tribute to him.
Lainey Wilson was among a long list of country music stars who came together on Monday, July 29, for a tribute show in Nashville, Tennessee, celebrating Toby Keith’s life and legacy.
The event, titled Toby Keith: American Icon, also served as a charity benefit for Toby’s OK Kids Korral and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
When it was time for Lainey Wilson to pay her respects by covering one of Keith’s classic tunes, she chose his 2002 hit song “Beer For My Horses.”
Not only did Wilson impress the crowd with her rendition, but she also stole the show by making a dramatic entrance on horseback, grabbing the entire arena’s attention as she rode to the stage.
She was guided through the audience on horseback before making her way to the side of the stage. Once she reached the stage, she dismounted and began her performance.

Wilson, of course, didn’t stop there with the surprises. The crowd was thrilled when country star Jamey Johnson was waiting for her on stage, guitar in hand. The two performed the track together in a special duet, creating an unforgettable moment for the night.
If you weren’t able to witness the magic of the Toby Keith: American Icon charity and benefit concert, don’t worry! The event was filmed for a televised special that will air on NBC on Wednesday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET.
