Lainey Wilson Returns As Host Of The 2025 CMA Awards
The CMA confirmed last month (September 30) that Lainey Wilson will return to host the 2025 awards ceremony set for November 19. She previously co-hosted the 2024 CMA Awards with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
This year, Wilson will be hosting the CMA Awards on her own, without a co-host. She becomes only the third woman in CMA history to serve as the ceremony’s sole host, following in the footsteps of Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
“I grew up watching the CMA Awards like it was the Super Bowl, so to be hosting for a second year is a true honor. I’m humbled that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can’t wait to love on this genre that has given me so much,” Lainey said.
How To Watch This Year’s CMA Awards:
The three-hour ceremony will air at 8/7 c PM on ABC, with the full event available for streaming on Hulu the following day, November 20.
This year’s show will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Lainey Teases An Opening To Remember
Lainey is already showing that she plans to bring her sharp wit and unique style to her role as the solo host. The country star recently gave fans a sneak peek of what’s in store with a hilarious behind-the-scenes video, hinting at the humor and personality she’ll bring to the live broadcast.
In a new promotional clip posted Thursday (October 23), Lainey, together with CMA, promised an “unforgettable” opening.
“Hey, I’m Lainey Wilson, your host for Country Music’s Biggest Night, the CMA Awards,” she began.
Lainey glanced left and right, searching for any other co-hosts. When no one appeared, she joked, “Alright, looks like I’m running the show.”
The video quickly veered into comedy as she called for massive speakers, urged the crowd to bring more energy, and demanded the perfect wardrobe. But when she asked for a glamorous outfit for the big night, she was handed a fluffy ballgown, hardly in line with Lainey’s signature bell bottom, casual style.
The “4X4XU” singer also hinted that the show will showcase “everyone’s favorite country stars,” an “unforgettable opening,” and plenty of surprises.
“This is what it’s all about,” Lainey added.
