The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada has become one of the most sought after entertainment venues over the past few years. Following its opening in September 2023, the massive arena, shaped just like a sphere, is known for its advanced technology and immersive entertainment experience.

The venue cost approximately $2.3 billion to build and can seat around 17,600 guests, with a maximum capacity of nearly 20,000 people, according to Architectural Digest. The Sphere stands as the largest spherical structure in the world.

The exterior of the unique building is covered with a massive LED display. The large screen wraps around the building and regularly shows animated graphics and advertisements for special events.

Inside, concert goers are surrounded by a massive 16K-resolution LED display. The Sphere also features advanced sound technology with more than 160,000 speakers designed to deliver precise audio to every seat. Additional effects including vibrations, wind, and environmental simulations help make performances come to life.

A number of well-known artists have already held residencies at the Sphere, including Zac Brown Band, Kenny Chesney, The Eagles, and U2.

Zac Brown Band’s first set of dates sold out so quickly they eventually expanded the residency and added two more shows. Lead singer Zac Brown shared that the opportunity to perform at the venue was a “dream come true.”

“Bringing our new album Love & Fear to Sphere in Las Vegas is a dream come true,” Brown shared in a statement. “It’s my masterpiece so far. This show is the story of my life that I have never shared, a journey through my imagination, music and stories that have defined who I am. All of this brought to life in the incredible immersive environment of Sphere. It will be a unique experience where you can really feel every note, every word, right there with us. We can’t wait to share it with the fans.”

The Sphere May Now Be Headed To Nashville

Now, Sphere Entertainment is reportedly considering building a venue in Nashville, Tennessee!

According to Axios, the Las Vegas location allegedly served as a testing ground for the venue, and the company is now exploring opportunities in other parts of the world.

A smaller version of the Sphere has already been confirmed for the Washington, D.C., area, with plans for an opening date around 2030. Another Sphere is also expected to be built in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

The outlet reports that Sphere representatives have reportedly held discussions with executives in Nashville, who could become potential partners for future projects.
