One man went to unimaginable lengths to get his hands on some free chicken and it worked! Until he got caught of course…

Imposter Or Legend?

A 27-year-old man from South Africa pulled off a masterplan at his local KFC. It is reported that the man would pop into the fast food joint and tell employees that he was sent from the KFC headquarters for “quality checks” – making sure the chicken was up to par.

The man was a student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has gained national attention since getting caught for his impressive stunt.

India Today reported that the man would walk into the restaurant with high confidence, explaining that he was there for quality assurance checks of the food served.

While the whole thing might seem suspicious, the unnamed man had his fake identity down To a T. Xpourzar reported that he carried an ID card from the “head office” and dressed to impress – sometimes even arriving in a limousine. An employee hilariously claimed,

“When he arrived we would all try to act our best so that we didn’t piss off the man from head office – he was so convincing because he was so confident, and even colleagues from other branches of KFC know him.”

The employee continued, “When he came in, he rushed to the kitchen and checked everything, taking notes and then asked for samples of whatever he wanted. He probably worked for KFC before because he knows everything.”

After the man was caught for his – some say – “genius” production, a Kenyan journalist took the story to Twitter and the world reacted…in incredible fashion. The post has over 24,000 retweets and 1.8k replies.

Here are a few of our favorites. Let’s just say, he might become the new face of KFC.

While the man was still arrested regardless of his impeccable efforts, the world remains quite impressed.
