Charlie Kirk Tragically Killed While Speaking

Charlie Kirk, a major conservative voice and CEO of Turning Point USA, was shot during a Q&A session Wednesday (September 10) at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Kirk was tragically pronounced dead just hours after the incident, President Donald Trump confirmed on social media.

The shooting occurred under a pop-up tent as part of his “American Comeback Tour.”

Bystanders described a chaotic scene, and law enforcement confirmed shots were fired.

Suspect Remains At Large

Law enforcement agencies at both the state and federal level have initiated a manhunt for the suspect. Officials confirm they have identified the shooter’s movements through surveillance and are working to narrow the search, according to CNN.

Investigators say they’ve recovered the rifle believed to have been used in the shooting, found in the woods near the scene.

The weapon and its ammunition were reportedly covered in messages referencing cultural and social topics. Authorities have not confirmed a motive but say they believe the suspect is a college-aged male.

Investigators Uncover Details Surrounding The Shooter’s Movements

On Thursday morning (September 11), Beau Mason, the Utah Department of Public Safety commissioner reported that officials have made several “breakthroughs” in the manhunt.

According to Mason, the suspect arrived on campus at 11:52 a.m. local time. Surveillance and other evidence show he accessed a rooftop, moved across the building, exited by jumping off, and then fled on foot into a nearby residential area.

“Starting at 11:52 a.m. this subject arrived on campus. Shortly away from campus, we have tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof across the roof to the shooting location,” Mason said. “After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off of the building and fled off of the campus and into a neighborhood.”

“Our investigators have worked through those neighborhoods, contacting anybody they can with doorbell cameras, witnesses and thoroughly worked through those communities, trying to identify any leads,” the commissioner added.

Authorities Seek The Public’s Help
