Meet Zach Top’s Alter Ego “Billy Bottoms”

Zach Top recently joined Dierks Bentley during a performance on The Broken Branches Tour, which began on May 29th

He made an entrance on stage dressed in head-to-toe ’90s denim, complete with shin-high white socks, a cigarette, and oversized ’90s sunglasses.

He portrayed “Billy Bottoms,” his alter ego, who had just been released from prison.

Along with the band Lula, Zach is a supporting act on Dierks Bentley’s tour, offering fans a chance to catch their humorous ’90s-inspired country music personas.

Dierks Bentley’s alter ego, Douglas ‘Doug’ Dougalson, joined Zach, and they performed a cover of “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” by John Michael Montgomery.

So, Who Are The Hot Country Knights?

This parody band, which features members in wigs and ’90s attire, is headlined by Dierks Bentley.

Established over five years ago, the band is known for using fake names and adopting silly personas. They are lead singer Douglas ‘Doug’ Dougalson, lead bass player Trevor Travis, lead guitarist Marty Ray (“Rayro”) Roburn, keytar/fiddle player Terotej (“Terry”) Dvoraczekynski, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky, and percussionist Monte Montgomery.

They have also released some original music, including a collaboration with Lainey Wilson on the song “Harassment,” where Lainey appears in a black wig and ’90s costume. She also adopted an alter ego named “Darla McFarland.”

Beyond their own humorous tracks, the band’s YouTube channel showcases skits and light-hearted moments from behind the scenes.

During Dierks Bentley’s tour, the band will also cover some of the biggest hits from the ’90s.
