Miley Cyrus recently shared how Dolly Parton is doing after rumors began to spread about the country icon’s health.

Cyrus, who is Parton’s goddaughter, made rare comments about her during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Monday, December 1.

According to the “Flowers” singer, Parton is recovering well and has no plans to slow down.

“She’s always going to keep the show going. The show must go on,” Cyrus said. “So she’s just excited to get back to work.”

Back in September, Parton had to cancel a planned appearance at Dollywood because she was dealing with kidney stones that led to an infection.

A few weeks later, fans became even more worried when she announced that she needed to postpone her sold-out Las Vegas residency. Parton was supposed to perform for six nights at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in December.

It was also confirmed that she wouldn’t be able to attend this year’s Governors Awards, which took place in November. She was going to be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award during the night.

Even more concern started to spread when the singer’s sister posted on Facebook asking people to pray for her.

Shortly after that, Parton broke her silence and put an end to the rumors about her health.

She shared a video on her social media where she talked openly with fans, explaining what was really going on.

“I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease, those that seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate – and I appreciate your prayers, ’cause I’m a person of faith, I can always use the prayers for anything and everything – but I want you to know that I’m okay!” Parton said.

She went on to say that after her husband Carl Dean passed away in March, she didn’t take care of herself very well. That led to a few health problems that she reassured were “nothing major.”

“I’m not dying!,” Parton added. “There’s just a lot of rumors flying around. But I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I was okay. I ain’t done yet…I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working’.”
