158-Year-Old Barn Destroyed

According to Fox28, on April 3rd, 2018, a massive tornado tore through the small town of Clifton, Ohio leaving a trail of destruction in its path. Many homes and barns were destroyed including John Richardson’s barn built back in 1861.

“It came across this field over here and it was just like a sheet of white.” John said.

But what’s most crazy about this story is when the tornado was coming across the field towards the barn, Freckles the horse ran into the barn for safety. The tornado kept coming straight towards him though and completely destroyed the barn with him inside it!

The Great Miracle

It wasn’t until the next morning when John went outside to see the damages when he saw Freckles standing right in the middle of the wreckage, untouched and unharmed. Shocked at the situation and looking like a miracle, John took a picture of the scene and posted it on Facebook.

Richardson also posted on Facebook, “Please say a prayer for us…A tornado came through while, I was at home today. We lost all of our barns, that have been standing since 1861 and suffered some damage to the house. I’m okay and so are the horses. Freckles was freed from the debris and seems to be okay. It’s a miracle that he is alive.”

Hundreds of people commented on the post expressing their gratefulness that Freckles somehow made it through the storm. Everything around Freckles is completely mangled, twisted and leveled to the ground.

It truly is a miracle that Freckles somehow survived. Richard went on to say that “you just have to pick up the pieces and see how it all fits together and rebuild I guess.”
