Trump Honors Rodeo World Champions
For the first time in 42 years, world champions from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) were honored at the White House Friday (March 13). The champions were honored during a special recognition ceremony hosted by President Donald Trump.
The visit celebrated the 2025 rodeo season’s top athletes, who earned world titles at the National Finals Rodeo and other championship events across the country. Champions representing multiple disciplines, including bull riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, and barrel racing, were invited to the White House.
The champions met with the president in the Oval Office and were acknowledged for their achievements in professional rodeo. Trump put on a cowboy hat as he spoke to the group, praising their dedication and success in the sport.

Rodeo Leaders Comment On The Event
Rodeo leaders said the recognition highlights the importance of rodeo in American culture and celebrates the dedication and skill of the athletes who compete at the highest level of the sport.
“A huge thank you to President Trump for the incredible honor of welcoming PRORODEO athletes to the White House,” the PRCA wrote in a post on social media.
The PRCA is the largest governing body for professional rodeo in the United States, sanctioning hundreds of rodeos annually. The WPRA represents professional women competitors, most notably in barrel racing.
Officials from the WPRA gushed over the visit, saying the day was an “unforgettable” opportunity to showcase rodeo’s heritage and the accomplishments of its world champions on a national stage.
