After Phil’s passing, loved ones and fans from all around came together to honor him.

One of the qualities people remember most about Phil was his strong faith. For years, he used his platform to preach the message of the gospel both on and off camera.

Even after Duck Dynasty ended in 2017, Phil kept sharing his beliefs, using his Unashamed podcast as a way to continue spreading the word of God.

But it turns out that Phil had been speaking about his faith and devotion to Jesus Christ long before he became a public figure.

In his very first televised interview, filmed many years ago, Phil made it clear that his commitment to his beliefs was always at the center of his life.

In Phil Robertson’s first televised interview, he opens up to a reporter about his journey to becoming a man of faith. He talks about what led him to put his trust in Jesus and explains how that decision shaped the rest of his life.

“I could either put my faith in this evolution thing where there’s no hope, or put my faith in the Almighty and that Jesus of Nazareth was really who He said He was,” Phil said. “So I’m putting my faith in the Biblical record.”

Ultimately, Phil’s decision to live by his faith became the foundation for every choice he made. He then went on to say that his practices are what brought him to where he was standing that day.

“Keep your life straight, love your fellow man, do what’s right, fish and hunt ducks for a living, build a few duck calls. In my mind, that’s gonna be hard to top… But that’s pretty much what got me down here…the Almighty, I guess…The fear of the Almighty.”
