Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart Remains In Critical Condition After Going Into Cardiac Arrest
Pentecostal televangelist Jimmy Swaggart is currently in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest over the weekend.
His son, Donnie, shared the news during a Sunday service, saying that “without a miracle, his time is short.”
He also posted about his father on Facebook, asking for prayer.
“On this Father’s Day, we urgently ask you to pray for Brother Swaggart. He needs a miracle from heaven right now, this morning. We must have the Lord intervene in this situation, and we need your prayers,” Donnie Swaggart wrote.
The 90-year-old preacher was at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, when it happened.
According to WWLTV, before emergency responders arrived, his son and grandson took turns performing chest compressions to help him regain consciousness.
“He never regained consciousness,” Donnie said. “I’ve never seen so many people arrive at one time, and I want to thank them. They were able to get a heartbeat back.”
Jimmy Swaggart remains in the ICU. According to the latest update (June 16) from Swaggart Ministries, his condition has not changed.
“We ask that you continue to lift him up in prayer and believe God for a miracle—but above all, we trust in the Lord’s perfect will,” the ministry said.
