Texas Law Says Wild Hogs Can Be Hunted From Hot Air Balloons

You’ve heard about the feral hog problem plaguing Texas, and hunters and authorities alike are stumped on how to get the invasive animals in check. They’re putting a new solution to work – hunting wild hogs from hot air balloons.

That’s right – while floating in the sky and enjoying the beauty of the Texas expanse, you can take out the feral hogs you see down on the ground one by one. While helicopters are a common vehicle for hog hunters, they don’t quite offer the relaxing experience that you get with a hot air balloon.

It’s not as easy as floating up into the sky, however. You’ll need to find a landowner who is willing to let you hunt from the sky on their property, a hot air balloon operator who is willing to let you hitch a ride, and you’ll need to pay any associated fees. Bringing a friend along for the ride isn’t a bad idea; you may be able to get a two for the price of one deal.
