Trump’s Official Remarks Regarding The Deadly Plane Crash
The briefing on Thursday morning began with a moment of silence, which was requested by Donald Trump before he delivered his remarks.
The newly sworn-in president then offered his condolences to the families and individuals affected. He confirmed that there were no survivors from the crash.
Trump also expressed that America was in a “moment of anguish,” calling the incident “a dark and excruciating night in our nation’s capital and in our nation’s history.”
The President made hefty claims, stating that he and his administration have their own theories about what happened, despite the lack of confirmed evidence regarding the situation.
“We do not know what led to this crash, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas,” Mr. Trump said. “We’ll find out how this disaster occurred and we’ll ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.”
He went on to discuss the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program, suggesting that DEI “could have been” a factor in the collision. There have been no facts provided to support those claims.
