Routh Was Spotted By Secret Service At Mar-A-Lago As Trump Golfed

Ryan Routh, 59, was found guilty on September 23 on all charges for his involvement in an attempted assassination of President Donald Trump as he golfed at Mar-a-Lago on September 15, 2024.

While he never opened fire on Trump, officials say Routh was waiting near the sixth green of Trump International Golf Club before he was spotted by Secret Service.

This was the second assassination attempt on Trump, following the rally at Butler, Pennsylvania on June 13, 2024, where Trump was grazed by a bullet and a firefighter in the audience, named Corey Comperatore, was killed.

Representing himself in court, Routh was found guilty of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

His sentencing date has not yet been announced.

Responding to the news of Routh’s conviction, Trump posted on Truth Social, praising Attorney General Pam Bondi and thanking law enforcement.

In his post, he described Routh as “an evil man with an evil intention.”
