UFC CEO Dana White Has Confirmed The First Ever Fight At White House

Dana White, president of the UFC and a known friend of Donald Trump, has confirmed that the organization is planning a mixed martial arts event for the first time in history on the White House lawn for July 4, 2026.

“It is definitely going to happen,” White told CBS Mornings on Tuesday (August 12).

Ivanka Trump has reportedly taken on the task of assisting with preparations.

“When he called me and asked me to do it, he said, ‘I want Ivanka in the middle of this,’” White said. “So Ivanka reached out to me, and … I started talking about the possibilities.”

According to White, it’s too premature to release the names of participating athletes at this time.

Trump Attends UFC Fight Night

In November of 2024, Trump received a warm welcome at Madison Square Garden on as he attended the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight bout.

Trump arrived with  White and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, among others.

During the event, the President was seen interacting with various individuals, including the podcaster Joe Rogan and fighter Jon Jones.

UFC aired a video of Trump’s journey to winning presidency a second time, saying it was, “The great comeback in American History.”

Trump & White’s Longtime Friendship

Trump has been a longtime supporter of White and UFC fights, first hosting a series of fight cards at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 2000, as mixed martial arts was struggling to garner widespread support.

In 2016, White spoke at the Republican National Convention in support of Trump, sharing that the President was the “first guy” who recognized potential in the UFC.

“He’s that guy, he shows up,” White said at the time. “I will always be so grateful to him.”

White explained how Trump has always been a true friend and invested in his success.

“His interest in me and my business, are personal. And in my opinion, you can really tell a person’s true character, when they are happy for somebody else’s success.”
