Which Artists Have Recorded The Song “Whiskey And You” In The Past?

Aaron Lewis is one of three popular country artists who’s offered up his take on the song “Whiskey and You.” And his version packs a powerful punch.

The other artists who’ve recorded the song include Chris Stapleton and Tim McGraw.

While many may think that “Whiskey and You” was just a track on Chris Stapleton’s chart-topping album Traveller, that is untrue. The song’s history stretches back a few more years than Stapleton’s recording.

Stapleton was not the first artist to record “Whiskey and You,” but he did co-write the track. The song was first recorded by Tim McGraw, who included it on his 2007 album Let It Go.

Although McGraw never released “Whiskey and You” as a single, the song still generated some attention.

As mentioned previously, Stapleton later included “Whiskey and You” on his 2015 album, Traveller.

“Whiskey and You” was transformed yet again when it fell into Aaron Lewis’ hands. He cut the song for his second solo studio album, 2016’s Sinner.

Sinner was a major chart success. It debuted at the number one spot on the Top Country Albums chart and crossed over to debut at the fourth spot on the all-genre chart. His version of “Whiskey and You” played a huge part in that success.

“Whiskey and You” is a naturally stripped-down song. But Lewis took things down one more notch for a special acoustic session. He later shared footage of the new rendition on his official YouTube channel.
