Fans of Yellowstone have been anxiously awaiting the show’s return, and now the highly-anticipated premiere date for the final part of Season 5 has finally been announced.

After an extended hiatus that began in 2022, which saw production halting for over a year due to reported conflicts involving show creator Taylor Sheridan and lead actor Kevin Costner, the wait is almost over.

Last month, Paramount Network announced that production had officially resumed for the latter half of Season 5, with filming currently taking place in Montana. The network revealed that the new episodes are slated to premiere in November but withheld a specific date at the time. However, it has now been confirmed that Yellowstone will return on November 10, marking the final chapter of the series.

Will Kevin Costner Return to Yellowstone?

A major question looming over the new episodes is whether Kevin Costner will reprise his role as John Dutton. Costner exited the show following filming of the first half of Season 5. Amid rumors about his sudden exit, the actor explained that he left due to script delays that clashed with his commitment to his personal project, Horizon: An American Saga, a four-part Western film.

“You’ve been reading one version [of what happened] for a year and a half,” Costner said in an interview with Deadline back in May. “I left my movie to be on time for them for [season] 5B. I left exactly when they wanted, and it made it hard on me. It turns out they didn’t have the scripts for 5B,” he revealed. “They needed four more days just to complete the first eight episodes. I left early to give them what they needed to have a complete eight, and I felt bad that the audience didn’t get 10. They didn’t have the scripts for anything else.”

Despite his departure, Costner has expressed openness to returning to wrap up his character’s story if the storyline aligns with his interests. In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, he stated, “Yeah, if I like the story, where it was going, I would go back.”

As fans get excited for the final part of Yellowstone, with or without Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, they can now mark their calendars for the November 10 premiere.

You can watch Yellowstone on the Paramount Network.
