Thanks to a special episode of The Voice after the closing ceremonies of the 2016 Rio Olympics, we were able to see what Season 11 had in store for us.
For a season that the show itself called “the biggest and best yet,” they really had to deliver when choosing their new coaches. Adding two new female coaches into the mix of veteran coaches is definitely a risk, but after seeing them perform together, we were sure it was going to pay off.
For the first time ever, Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Miley Cyrus performed together and it was pure magic. They performed a rendition of Aerosmith’s “Dream On” and we’ll just let you wait and see who hits that epic high note!
Keys kicked off the performance on the piano while singing a soulful version of the opening verse. She threw it over to Shelton, who dazzled with his verse, proving he is a force to be reckoned with in the country-rock genre.
Levine performed an electric guitar solo before singing his verse, and Cyrus followed, but the absolute best part of the performance was when the coaches sang harmonies together and played off each other’s energies.
Vocally, this is probably one of the hardest songs to sing, but each coach played to their strength and it turned out incredible!
