22-year old Jordan Smith wowed the audience and coaches alike during his performances on last night’s ‘The Voice’ finale. The Team Adam contestant has consistently delivered week after week and, if iTunes sales are any indication, looks as if he’s a shoo-in to win this year’s title.
Last night Smith tackled the popular Christmas tune ‘Mary, Did You Know?’ and made us feel as if we were hearing it again for the first time. The song was written by Christian comedian and recording artist, Mark Lowry, who took to Facebook to praise Jordan Smith’s rendition of his song saying it was both “spectacular and anointed.”
Smith’s unmatched talent has allowed him to accomplish something that no other artist on ‘The Voice’ has done. He cracked the top 10 on the iTunes singles chart during every week of the live performances, even knocking pop megastar Adele from the top spot that she had held for a month.
Jordan Smith told Parade that he is humbled by the success. “Every week I am just shocked. It still doesn’t seem real,” he said. “Every week, I am surprised and blown away, and humbled by it, honestly.”
Smith is one of four finalists left in the singing competition. He is going up again Barrett Baber, Jeffery Austin, and Emily Ann Roberts for ‘The Voice’ title in which one of them will win a recording contract. The winner will be announced tonight (Dec. 15) at the end of a star-studded two-hour finale on NBC.
