If Alan Jackson‘s heartbreaking love songs weren’t enough to melt our hearts, his countrified holiday hit is sure to do it! Although the singer recorded the song “I Only Want You For Christmas” back in 1991, it has continued to remain timeless and get us in the jolly holiday spirit year after year!

Jackson opens up his jingle on a sentimental note with a very slow-paced beat. As he begins to sing the melancholy lyrics, the song’s tempo quickly picks up into a vibrant beat as the singer explains, “I only want you for Christmas, baby/ I don’t need nothing else/ I only want you for Christmas, baby/ Tie a ribbon ’round yourself.” Well, we’ve never been one to argue with a cowboy!

He continues to sing, “So put on your Christmas stockings I’ll find that mistletoe/ Let’s get into the holiday spirits/ And honey ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.” Jackson is pure energy in this song as he desperately pleas with his woman that she’s an unbeatable gift that he wouldn’t dare compete with.
