Stuart McKenzie, who runs the largest team of professional snake catchers in Australia called Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 responded to a call about a snake hiding under a woman’s bin on her front porch.

“The snakes just keep getting bigger. We were genuinely surprised when we revealed this monster Carpet Python from under the bin on their front porch in Nambour today,” Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 wrote on Facebook.

Stuart was the first to arrive on the scene and after seeing the trash bin and getting an idea of how big it might be, he decided he was going to film the catch. When Stuart lifted the bin, everyone gasped for air at how large the snake was.

It was a whopping nine-foot eight inches long and weighed about 22 pounds. They figured it was a big one but had no idea it was going to be a nearly 10-foot carpet python. Stuart was visibly surprised at first and under-equipped to capture the snake but quickly grabbed some different equipment from his vehicle.

“How good and healthy is this python,” McKenzie said to the camera after relocating the reptile to a wooded area to be released. “It’s not very often as snake catchers we get genuinely surprised… let’s get him back in the bush before he bites me in the face.”
