The MTV Video Music Awards are being handed out Sunday night (September 7), and some of country music’s best are in the running for a coveted trophy.

Morgan Wallen, Ella Langley, Luke Combs, and Jelly Roll were among the VMAs’ nominees for an iconic Moon Person trophy. Categories of Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Collaboration, Best Album, and Best Video for Good all had a country representation.

And for the first time in the show’s history, country music was represented in its own category: Best Country Video.
