January 8, 2022 was such a happy moment for the Presley family. It was what would have been Elvis Presley’s 88th birthday.

Elvis’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley, joined Baz Luhrmann, the director of the critically-acclaimed biopic Elvis, Austin Butler, the actor who portrayed Elvis in the film, and her oldest daughter, actress Riley Keough, were among many others at a birthday celebration that was held in Los Angeles on January 8th.

Riley posted a photo of Lisa Marie to her Instagram Story that night, saying, “How beautiful is my mama?!”

Videos of the event have surfaced of Lisa Marie talking on the microphone, thanking everyone for coming to celebrate.

“I am so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it’s had and what Baz has done, what Austin’s done. I’m so proud. And I know that my father would also be so proud. I want to thank you for being here, I am overwhelmed with gratitude,” she said.

Four days after the birthday party, Lisa Marie passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. She is survived by her mother Priscilla, and daughters Riley, Harper, and Finely. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them during this difficult time.

There is also a video of Baz leading the party in a sing-along version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Watch it below.
