The world knows that crazy happenings with wildlife are common in Australia – but this one takes the cake.

The neighborhood snake catcher was called to a home to remove a six-and-a-half-foot python who was in the middle of a huge meal. The python was hanging upside down, slowly but surely devouring an adult possum whole.
When hearing this story for the first time, many would think that the snake was dangling from a tree in the middle of a jungle, but the truth is much scarier. It was hanging from the gutter of a Sunshine Coast home.
Steve McKenzie, the snake catcher who responded to the case, made the smart decision to wait to approach the snake. He was able to successfully remove the snake after waiting an hour for it to finish eating.

The snake is technically known as a large carpet python, and may not have even been full grown. A large carpet python can grow up to fourteen feet long.
