“American Idol” Winner Iam Tongi Revealed His 115-Pound Weight Loss – “It Feels Amazing”

Iam Tongi has made an incredible change with a weight loss of over 100 pounds!

The Kahuku, Hawaii native won his American Idol Season in 2023 with an original song titled “I’ll be seeing you.” His YouTube video, released after his American Idol run, has received over 3.5 million views.

He captured the hearts of Americans during his time on the singing competition. Watch his emotional victory, during which he shed tears of joy, below.

Iam Tongi Shares How He Has Lost 115 Pounds

The 20-year-old singer shared with People that he has made significant lifestyle changes and is working hard to get healthy.

He shared that he has a personal trainer and that he and his trainer have a set plan.

“We have a workout session maybe around 11, come back [home], and we go to an ice bath or sauna … or whatever it is. And then we come back, shower and go on a walk.”

The singer went on to say, “And I’ve lost 115 lbs. It feels amazing. I feel great.”

Iam even met with The Rock, who is known for his intense workout regimen alongside his acting career. The Rock praised the young man for his lifestyle change, saying,

“Yessah! Proud of you uso for all you do for our culture, I’m even more proud of all the hard work you’re putting in taking care of YOU. That matters most. Looking forward to working with you!”

What Is The American Idol Singer Up To Now?

In addition to his new health journey, Iam shared that he is spending his time making new music. He even announced an exciting new album.

“I’m working on an album, actually, so I’m excited about that, and we’ll see how that goes. I’m inspired by a lot of soul. I love Al Green. Al Green is one of my favorite singers, so I’m excited for that [single].”

He also released a new music video for his single “Sunshine” a few weeks ago. Watch below.
