Armed Man Caught Trespassing In Arena Right Before Megan Moroney Show In Georgia
on Mar 04, 2026

Authorities addressed a possible threat ahead of a Megan Moroney concert after learning that an armed man was inside the arena.
On February 23, police were called to Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia, hours before Megan Moroney was scheduled to perform, according to WSB-TV.
The arena was one of the stops on her nine-show run, where the singer sold tickets for just $9 in support of her new album, Cloud 9.
The man, later identified as David Allen, had gotten past security and raised concern after he was seen taking photos around the arena. Allen was said to have been taking pictures of the building’s interior, and potentially of people walking around.
When police approached him, Allen claimed he was a location scout for a movie being filmed on the University of Georgia campus called “21 Down.”
The film, which is set to star Ashley Judd, is reportedly filming in the Atlanta area, according to IMDb.
But when the UGA Police Department reached out to the university to verify Allen’s story, they were told that no one by that name was employed there.
After further investigation, Allen admitted that he was carrying a firearm and a knife.
Charges were filed by arena security, and Allen was arrested for trespassing. He was taken to the Athens-Clarke County Jail.
As of now, no additional details about the situation have been released. It’s unclear what Allen’s true intentions were that evening.
