For the 14th Annual CMA Country Christmas, Ashley McBryde performed “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” with some help from Lindsey Stirling.

Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood hosted the star-studded affair, which aired on Thursday, December 14 on ABC. Not only did they host together, but Grant and Yearwood also performed two songs together – “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” by “Joy To The World.”

In addition to their collaborations, they each performed solo as well. Grant sang her original song “Grown Up Christmas List” and Yearwood performed “O Holy Night,” while being accompanied by Lindsey Stirling.

Other performances included:

Jordan Davis – “O Come All Ye Faithful”
The War and Treaty – “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)”
Jon Pardi – “Beer For Santa”
Lady A – “What Christmas Means to Me”
Lainey Wilson & Zach Williams – “Go Tell It On The Mountain”

Another performance, that was actually one of our favorites, was Ashley McBryde singing “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” with dancing violinist Lindsey Stirling.

“You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” is the iconic anthem from Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Composed by Albert Hague and written by Dr. Seuss himself, it’s a playful yet sassy critique of the Grinch’s mischievous nature. Sung originally by Thurl Ravenscroft, it boasts vivid, cleverly crafted lyrics describing the Grinch’s unpleasant qualities. Ravenscroft’s deep, rich voice delivers whimsical insults with charm, creating a memorable and catchy tune. With its jazzy melodies and imaginative descriptions, the song has become synonymous with the holiday season, adding a mischievous touch to Christmas playlists and reminding us of the Grinch’s peculiar charm.

The song is more on the jazz side, so how did Ashley McBryde’s version fare?

Stirling started off the song in a pose surrounded by dancers in Grinch-like outfits. Her lime green dress stole the show as she played violin and dance about the stage! Her high kicks while playing violin will always amaze us!

After a long musical introduction, McBryde walked on stage in a red off-the-shoulder jumpsuit and delivered flawless vocals.
