A Viral TikTok Video Is Claiming That Billy Bob Thornton Won’t Return To Landman
On December 5, Landman announced it will be returning for Season 3, just a few weeks after Season 2 premiered! It’s clear the Taylor Sheridan-run show is a fan favorite, bringing in several million viewers per week.
With star power like Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, and Sam Elliott, it’s no wonder why fans are tuning in week after week. But, according to a viral TikTok video, Thornton announced he will be leaving the show.
In the TikTok video, it appears that Billy Bob Thornton is saying, “I will not be appearing in Landman Season 3. I simply can’t tolerate the three foolish things director Taylor Sheridan does on set.”
Essentially, the video shows that Thornton is claiming that Sheridan is forcing new cast members, like Sam Elliott, on the show, and has written his character, Tommy Norris, in a way that the actor does not agree with. Furthermore, the video claims that Thornton does not agree with how his character treats women.
Thankfully, not everyone in the comments were fooled and immediately called it out for being AI. But others believed it with one fan commenting, “If Tommy isn’t on there I don’t want to watch,” while another said, “Awww come on you have to come back Billy Bob.”
Billy Bob Shuts Down The Rumors, Confirms He Will Be In Season 3
During an interview with USA Today promoting the Season 2 finale, Billy Bob addressed the viral TikTok video, slamming it and calling it “goofy stuff.”
“It’s all just AI-generated crap,” said Thornton, adding that it is just “some stupid AI thing that came out where it wasn’t me at all.”
He brought up another AI claim that he saw online, saying, “There’s an AI report that Demi and I are a couple now … They have nothing to do with reality.”
Thornton is the star of the show, so it would be hard to continue the show without him! Season 2 ended with a lot of promise for the Norris family, having just started their own oil company, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle.
CTT stands for Cooper, Tommy, Thomas, with Thornton’s character naming the company after his son, himself, and his dad, portrayed by Sam Elliott.
