On September 4, 2006, Steve Irwin passed away after being stung by a stingray while filming a documentary titled Ocean’s Deadliest. The stingray’s poisonous barb on its tail went up and into his chest, piercing a hole in his heart.

Irwin left behind a wife, Terri, and two young children. Daughter Bindi was eight years old and her younger brother Robert was just two years old.

Since his death, the entire family has dedicated their lives to continuing Steve’s legacy, working and living at the Australia Zoo and promoting wildlife preservation.

Though it’s been 13 years since Steve’s untimely passing, not a day goes by where the Irwin family doesn’t think of Steve. Bindi often shares photos and videos of her father, including this cute one of them from when she was just learning how to walk.

On Sunday (March 1), Bindi once again took to Instagram to share a sweet moment she shared with her father many years ago. She was eating a chocolate ice cream cone and sharing it with her dad. Let’s just say she only ate a little bit of it because the rest ended up on her and Steve’s faces!

As she touched the ice cream cone to his nose, she giggled uncontrollably until Steve stole the cone from her and began chasing her! She ran for cover behind Terri, who protected her from the chocolate ice cream-covered Steve.

These memories make me smile,” she captioned the video.

They make us smile, too, Bindi. Watch the video below.
