Blake Shelton & Wife Gwen Stefani Are Stepping Into Television
Country singer Blake Shelton and his wife Gwen Stefani are stepping into the world of television!
The duo, who have collaborated on numerous songs together as a couple and starred on different live television shows, are now moving into another role as they are set to become executive producers of a new series inspired by The Wizard of Oz.
Dorothy, tells the story of a contemporary, music-infused young adult reimagining of the original classic.
Created by Gina Matthews and produced under her Little Engine banner, the series promises a modern twist on the iconic journey down the Yellow Brick Road, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed.

“We’re really excited about all the possibilities this show brings, and I’m so grateful that Gina shared the idea with me and Lee,” Shelton said in a statement. “I knew right away it was something Gwen would connect with. Her creativity and perspective are such a natural fit for this project.”
Set in Manhattan, Dorothy reimagines the Yellow Brick Road as a powerful metaphor for the challenges and life-defining choices young adults face in today’s world.
“It’s a creative and modern take on a classic, and being part of something that blends music, emotion, and the character of Dorothy is inspiring to me,” Stefani added.
Who Is Gina Matthews?
Matthews founded Little Engine Productions in 1998 and is now co-led with her husband, Grant Scharbo. The company has produced popular films including Urban Legend, 13 Going on 30, and Isn’t It Romantic.
She shared that she has been “in love” with the Wizard Of Oz books since she was a little girl.
“The story reminds us of the qualities we need to get through hard times, and Dorothy is a symbol of strength who shows us that with a little kindness — and a lot of grit — we can not only achieve great things but also lift-up those around us. I’m excited to bring that message to the world, now more than ever,” Matthews shared.
