10-Year Old Fiddle Prodigy Stuns Opry With Performance Of ‘Blue Moon Of Kentucky’

Grand Ole Opry

When other kids his age were playing with Hot Wheels, Carson Peters was playing the fiddle. By age 4, Peters was entering fiddle competitions and playing at music festivals. In the years since, Carson has continued to hone his fiddling skills and has had the opportunity to achieve goals that many wait a lifetime for.

In addition to appearing on national television show like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Peters made his debut appearance on the Grand Old Opry. He was only 10 years old when he was invited by bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs to perform with him and his band, Kentucky Thunder, on the Opry.

Carson Peters’ appearance on the Opry and his flawless performance of the Bill Monroe classic “Blue Moon of Kentucky” became one of the most talked about Opry performances in recent years. Not only is Carson talented, but he’s humble….a trait that has endeared him to bluegrass fans all over the country.

“It’s all about using the talent God gave me to make people smile,” Carson said.

Now 12, Carson Peters lives in Piney Flats, Tennessee with his parents, Jamie and Robin.
