“What” and “if” are two of the most harmless words found in the English language. However, when read together, the two seemingly nonthreatening words have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life.

After a century’s worth of “maybe-one-days,” 102-year-old Edie Simms was done living with her “what ifs” and set out on fulfilling her biggest “bucket list dream.” The St. Louis, Missouri native had her life long dream of being arrested fulfilled Friday Sept. 30.

“Officers arrested Edie Simms because it’s on her bucket list to be in the back of a patrol car,” reports Colleen Williams for NBC4.

The officers showed up at her senior center, stowed her away in the back of the police car, and took her downtown to the station. Simms relayed to NBC4 that she “really enjoyed [her] experience.” While this particular dream may not be a commonly shared one, the incident allowed Simms to check it off her bucket list making for one less “what if” to live with.
