‘Redneck Woman’ Contestant Blows ‘The Voice’ Judges Away

YouTube: The Voice

Ok, so maybe she didn’t get a four chair turn, but three is close enough – more importantly it is a automatic pass to the next round! Can’t complain, right?

Well when you’re a contestant who used to sing with coach Blake Shelton at the Oklahoma Opry, you might be upset when the country music icon was the only chair that didn’t turn! Kata Hay sang Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” for her Voice blind audition and received a three out of four chair turn around. That’s a win in our book.

So why didn’t Shelton turn his chair? He didn’t really have an answer for the Oklahoma native who reminded Shelton that they sang at the Oklahoma Opry together when she was just 3-years-old. Hay was understandably a little disappointed that Shelton didn’t push his button, but when the initial shock wore off she fully embraced the other three coaches.

Hay made a lasting impression when she accidentally stumbled onto the stage before her audition, and when she jumped into the arms of Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera after her killer performance. She also gave each of them a kiss on the cheek! We like this girl.

Watch it all unfold in the sneak-peek clip below.
