Betty Sue Lynn was the eldest of Loretta Lynn’s six children and was known as the legendary country star’s right-hand woman. Loretta gave birth to Betty Sue when she was just 16-years-old and spent the next 64 years talking to her baby girl every day.

At a 2014 event on the family’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, Loretta takes the stage and discusses her struggle coping with the insurmountable loss of her daughter.

“You know I lost my oldest daughter, and I miss her so bad. You think it would get better everyday, but it don’t. If I didn’t call her, she called me. We never missed a day calling, and I sure miss her.”

In this touching tribute to her lost daughter, images of Betty Sue flash across the screen as “For Baby” by Anne Murray beings playing in the background.

Betty Sue Lynn passed away in July 2013 from complications associated with emphysema at the age of 64. Many country stars rallied their support for the Lynn family during their difficult time.

The Lynn’s shared a statement about the passing of their loved one on Facebook.

Unfortunately, this was not the first time their family had suffered a loss like this. In July 1984, Loretta lost her second eldest child, Jack Benny Lynn when he drowned in the river trying to save his horse.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lynn family who suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Betty Sue and Jack Benny.
