Conway Twitty‘s been melting our hearts since the very first day he released “Hello Darlin’“.

Another heart melted by the song? His longtime duet partner, Loretta Lynn

Throughout his impressive career, Twitty would regularly sing the heartfelt song to his longtime friend, sometimes making her blush on stage!

Lucky for us, many of these performances were captured on film.

Below, in a very simple performance, Twitty sings “Hello Darlin’” to Lynn, who sat beside him looking as beautiful as ever in a sparkling red dress.

Lynn was grinning from ear-to-ear as Twitty smiled down upon her and sang about love and heartbreak.

Twitty and Lynn were an unstoppable duo back in the day, and between 1971 and 1988, the duo released eleven studio albums together, producing five No. 1 hit songs.

Hello Darlin’” was written and recorded by Twitty himself, and released as the first single from his 1970 album, Hello Darlin

The song was a huge hit for the country artist, becoming Twitty’s fourth single to top the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. “Hello Darlin’” charted at No. 1 for four weeks during the summer of 1970, soon becoming the No. 1 song of the year.

Hello Darlin’” was regularly used as Twitty’s show opener, and quickly became the signature song of his career.
