Ever since he signed with Sony Music Nashville, rising country star Kane Brown has been busy in the studio.
He always gives fans sneak peaks of his songs as soon as he can.
Brown and his grandfather had a special bond, and when he passed away, Brown was devastated. He decided to write a song about his grandfather, who he calls “Granddaddy”.
He’s had the first verse written for two years and was never able to finish it. Two of his good friends recently lost their grandfathers, which inspired him to finish the track.
“Everything that’s written in this song is true,” he explains. “One of the main things I used to do is pretend rodeo in front of his chair, because he got sick and never left his chair.”
He sings of that special memory and more. “You’re in my heart/So I’ll never be alone” he croons. “I know you’re watching over me/I hope one day I’ll be the man you used to be“.
The way he delivers the emotional lyrics will give you chills.
