Randy Travis Performs Rockin’ Rendition Of ‘Hard Rock Bottom Of Your Heart’

Although it is a song about asking for forgiveness, Randy Travis‘ “Hard Rock Bottom Of Your Heart” will get your toe tapping.

The story of a man who was unfaithful is set to the tune of an upbeat, rockin’ country song. In the chorus, he sings the heartbreaking lyrics, “I keep waiting for you to forgive me/And you keep saying you can’t even start/And I feel like a stone you have picked up and thrown/to the hard rock bottom of your heart“.

Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart” was written by notable songwriter Hugh Prestwood. Prestwood has written hits for Alison Krauss and Trisha Yearwood, just to name a few!

Travis released “Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart” in January 1990 as the second single from his fourth studio album, No Holdin’ Back. The album produced three singles, all of which charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

“Hard Rock” hit No. 1 on March 17, 1990 and spent four weeks at the top of the charts! It became the first song to do so since the 1978 Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson’s “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys“.

In this particular performance, Travis rocked it! He had the audience singing and clapping along!
