Jennifer Nettles Fights Tears In Breathtaking New Music Video For ‘Unlove You’

Jennifer Nettles‘ latest solo single, “Unlove You,” has taken country music by storm, and is currently climbing up the Billboard country charts. The song serves as the lead single to Nettles’ upcoming solo album called Playing with Fire, which is set for release on May 13.

Now, “Unlove You” is gathering even more attention thanks to its breathtaking new music video. Nettles premiered the video on March 13, and it’s already being praised for the beautiful way it portrays the meaning behind the song.

“Unlove You” tells the story of a woman who is conflicted over staying true to her marriage vows or breaking them to pursue the subject of her desire. Even though she still loves her husband, the narrator can’t unlove her new lover either, singing “We know it ain’t right/This is going nowhere/If I’m with you I don’t care/Take me nowhere tonight.

The music video further illustrates the story told in “Unlove You,” as Nettles’ character is shown sitting in a bar as she reflects on her marriage. Eventually, her lover walks in the bar and as they start chatting, Nettles’ wedding ring falls off of her hand, in a sort of symbolic breaking of her vows.

Everything about the music video is stunning, from the bright red dress Nettles is wearing, to a series of underwater scenes with her character and her lover. The video also showcases Nettle’s acting skills, as her facial expressions clearly convey each emotion behind every word in the song.

This is one video that will truly take your breath away, and you can watch it below.
