‘Idol’ Loses Country Finalist After STUNNING Martina McBride Tribute

FOX/American Idol

A Tennessee native and local talent show champion, Tristan McIntosh is already very well-versed in performing for being just 15-years-old.

Part of the ‘Top 6’ contestants on the 15th and final season of American Idol, McIntosh has definitely secured a place in America’s heart as a favorite singer, and one of the few country singer’s in the entire competition.

Just last night, the contestants were whittled down to just five remaining hopefuls based on America’s vote. Both McIntosh and fellow contestant Sonika Vaid were placed at the bottom of the list and were given a final chance to sing in front of the judges in hopes of being saved.

With only one save available, the two talented artists pulled out all the stops and gave their all trying to nail the last spot in the final five to move forward. McIntosh sang a version of Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” while Vaid sang Demi Lovato’s “Let It Go”

While all of us here loved her rendition of the supercharged patriotic anthem, the judges felt that it was too much of the same and wasn’t compelling.

“Obviously you’re one of America’s favorites,” Jennifer Lopez began critiquing. “But if I was to give any advice to you going forward, it would be to try different things because you don’t want to flat line…and we’re just seeing the same performance over and over.”

Unfortunately following both performances, the group of judges decided to keep Vaid and eliminated McIntosh by default.

Traditionally, even though a contestant is eliminated in the later rounds of the competition, they are often offered a recording contract due to their incredible talents showcased on the program.
