Chris Stapleton And Wife Steal ACM Awards With Mind-Blowing Performance
on Apr 04, 2016
The past year has been a whirlwind for Chris Stapleton.
He released his debut solo album, Traveller, on May 5, 2015 and less than a year later, he now has two Grammys, three CMA Awards and four ACM Awards.
He was a favorite to win the ACM Awards for Album of the Year, New Male Vocalist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, but winning Song of the Year was a complete shock to him.
“I thought we were gonna get Girl Crushed on this one,” Stapleton said in his acceptance speech referencing Little Big Town’s song, which had been winning at awards shows as well.
We honestly can’t remember a time where Chris Stapleton wasn’t dominating awards shows and delivering incredible performances. Okay, yes we can, but we don’t want to!
It’s hard to believe that he is considered a “breakout artist”, seeing how much success he’s had as a songwriter beginning in 2003.
At the ACMs, the married couple who have been taking the country music world by storm, performed Stapleton’s emotional hit “Fire Away” and blew everyone away.
The entire audience was definitely loving the performance’s signature Stapleton soul. The camera cut to Miranda Lambert and her boyfriend, Anderson East, who were nodding their heads to the beat.
It’s a shame their performance was only three-and-a-half minutes because we could’ve watched them all night.
Watch their incredible performance below.
