A Look Back: Robertsons Celebrate One Year Since Meeting Newly-Adopted Son

Korie and Willie Robertson have always been very open about their plans to expand their family. 

After having three biological children, adopting a son, and taking in a foster daughter, Korie and Willie felt they still had the time, resources and love in their hearts to welcome another child into their home.

In October 2015, they hinted at the family’s plan to adopt again.

“We are always open to adoption. We feel like adoption has blessed our family in so many ways,” Korie said an the Angels in Adoption event. “We are so thankful for our kids both biological and adopted. So never say never. That’s for sure.”

As it turns out, Korie’s hint was more than a hint. In January, the married couple revealed that they had been fostering a child since May 2015 and were in the process of adopting him.

This weekend, the Robertsons are sponsoring a NASCAR event called the Duck Commander 500, which is where they first met their son, Rowdy, last year. A full year has gone by with their newest addition and from the looks of things, it couldn’t have gone any better.

Little did we know that over the past year, he was at all the family events from John Luke’s wedding, to a boating trip on the lake, to Thanksgiving, and more!

Let’s take a look back at Rowdy’s first year with the Robertsons!

 

Instagram/@bosshogswife The Announcement In January 2016, Willie and Korie announced the newest addition to their family, Rowdy. He had been an unofficial member since May 2015, but they revealed his adoption is being finalized.

Instagram/@bosshogswife New York In February, the entire family flew to New York to support Sadie during fashion week and they took a detour to the American Museum of Natiural History. Apparently, Rowdy knows almost everything there is to know about dinosaurs!
