‘I’m Ready’: George Strait Can’t Contain His Excitement About Return To Performing

When George Strait retired from touring following the conclusion of his Cowboy Rides Away Tour, it wasn’t long before he was itching to get back on the stage.

In September 2015, Strait announced his plans to play a series of shows at the new Las Vegas Arena starting this spring. Since tickets to the concerts sold quickly, Strait added additional dates to his original residency, and he now has shows scheduled throughout 2016 and into next year.

Strait announced his Vegas show dates during a press conference, and shared how excited he is to start performing after being away for so long.

Come April, it’ll be about a year and 10 months since I performed with my band,” Strait said. “It’s gonna be exciting to get back out there again.”

Although the fans are excited to see Strait perform again, no one is more anxious for his Strait to Vegas concerts than “The King of Country” himself.

It’s right exactly what I want to do,” Strait said in a new interview about the upcoming Vegas concert dates. “I’m ready.

Strait also shared some of the songs he has missed singing since he retired from performing, which are a couple of fan-favorites as well.

I miss being out there singing ‘Amarillo by Morning’ or ‘The Chair’,” Strait said. “They’re who I am.”
