The first No. 1 hit for country artist Trace Adkins brought with it a fanbase that would grow to massive heights for the majority of the following two decades.

Launched in 1997, Adkins’ first chart-topper would come as the third single released from his debut album, Dreamin’ Out Loud, and make incredible waves in country music.

“(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” debuted at the 44th position on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks before pinning itself to the highest point on the Hot Country Songs chart just a short time later!

The album would go on to become certified platinum by the RIAA, and help solidify him as the country superstar we know today!

The song is a play on physical attraction and impresses the idea that it “ain’t no thinkin’ thing, right brain, left brain/It goes a little deeper than that/ It’s a chemical, physical, emotional devotion.” Surely the huge number of Adkins’ super-fans have a chemical, physical, and emotional devotion to this spectacular song!

The accompanying music video is a true throwback to the late ’90s with some flashy camera shots at varying angles and reminds us of a time when country music was surging in popularity!

Due to the tremendous success of the track (among other career highlights), Adkins was later nominated for the CMA Horizon Award and the singer continued to dominate the charts sending single after single into the Top 20 group!
