12-Year-Old ‘America’s Got Talent’ Star Dazzles In Breathtaking Semi-Finals Performance

You’ve probably gotten used to hearing the name Grace VanderWaal by now. That’s because the 12-year-old singer has captured the hearts of the nation during her time on the popular competition series, America’s Got Talent

VanderWaal first caught the attention of the judges and viewers with her audition for the show, during which she performed an original song she wrote herself. Judge Simon Cowell, who is typically hard to impress, was so blown away by VanderWaal’s talent that he predicted she could become the next Taylor Swift. Judge Howie Mandel was equally impressed, and awarded her his golden buzzer, which automatically sent her into the competition.

Since then, VanderWaal has continued to daze and amaze with her soft, breezy voice and stunning performances. During Tuesday night’s (August 30) semi-finals, VanderWaal managed to further secure her spot in the competition with yet another breathtaking performance.

Just as she did for her audition, VanderWaal performed an original song for the judges and viewers. Called “Light the Sky,” the song showed off all aspects of VanderWaal’s immense talent. Standing on stage with twinkling lights and a fog hanging around her, VanderWaal’s performance was almost dream-like, and it sure was a good dream!

After VanderWaal finished singing, all four judges soared to their feet and rewarded her with a much-deserved round of applause. Judge Heidi Klum said she could see VanderWaal as one of the final two contestants, while Mandel echoed those words.
