Country Star Releases Song To Honor Daughter Who Passed Away

Making history in early 2015 with the instant hit and overnight success of his album “The Underdog”, Aaron Watson quickly launched his career into superstardom.

Just a couple years before all of his dreams and hopes for a future in music came true, the country singer and his family suffered an incredible loss. One that would impact him from that day forth.

In 2011, Watson and his wife Kimberly welcomed their second daughter, Julia Grace, into the world. Tragically, just hours after birth, their baby girl passed away from complications related to an abnormality in her chromosomes, called Trisomy 18.

Like many legendary country singers, Watson turned to songwriting to help cope with the loss of his baby girl and turned the difficult time into a beautifully stunning acoustic ballad to honor her.

Watson opened up to Taste of Country about the inspiration for his song, “Bluebonnets (Julia’s Song)”:

“I had such an overwhelming mixture of emotions seeing Jake, Jack and Jolee Kate smiling in a field of bluebonnets, while having the place we laid their little sister to rest in the distance behind them.”
