Known as “Blue Rain” or “Nashville” the legendary suit was an integral part of the late King of Rock and Roll’s repertoire.
And that’s exactly why Lee Memphis King had his suit modeled after Elvis Presley’s “Blue Rain”. Lee even commissioned the original designer of Presley’s suit to make his. They are nearly identical in every way, except Lee’s was custom-tailored to him.
A blue-jeweled white jumpsuit complete with the iconic flare at the ends of sleeves and legs, this ornate replica was likely quite spendy and is as close to the real thing as one could get.
First reported by Luton on Sunday, the tribute artist and his representative say that the suit was stolen after a sold-out show at the Grove Theater in Dunstable, UK on April 15th.
“We are, as you can imagine, devastated that this would happen after a sell out concert,” Jill Schoonjans, Lee’s rep said.
In a post to his Facebook page, Lee says that he is “marred by the loss” of his costume, and we can only imagine how this has impacted his set and performance.
Luckily, he has thousands upon thousands of fans on social media who are spreading the word in search of his costume and expressing their anger and frustration at the person responsible!
We are hoping for the best in his search! Such a terrible thing to happen to a man who has honored Elvis time and time again!
