It's well-known that LeAnn Rimes has one of the most beautiful voices not just in country music, but the music industry as a whole. Although Rimes has her fair share of hit songs under her belt, she often likes to entertain the crowd by covering songs from other genres. As to be expected, she nails each and every song she tackles, including one big hit from the past two years.
English singer Sam Smith released his debut album In the Lonely Hour in May 2014. The song "Stay With Me" was released as the third single from the album, and became a smash success. It hit number one on the Billboard Adult Contemporary and Adult Top 40 charts and also topped the charts in multiple countries around the world, including Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand.
Smith earned two Grammys for "Stay with Me" in 2015, for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. It has gone on to be certified 7x Platinum by the RIAA, and has sold over four million units.
Hot off the heels of the release of "Stay with Me," Rimes chose to perform the song as part of an acoustic set at the Casino Rama in October 2014. Since the whole performance was acoustic, it showcased Rimes' talent to the highest degree.
Rimes' body language and the way she worked with her voice added a whole new emotional level to the already emotional song. Just when it seemed like she couldn't sing any higher, she hit a note way up in the sky, and the crowd was in awe.
It's clear that Rimes poured her heart and soul into this performance. You can check it out in the video below...it's sure to give you chills!
